HM Training–Week 4

We are in week four of our half-marathon training. It’s been an interesting few weeks to say the least. My legs are sore from the 8 mile run on Saturday; yesterday was a rest day. Today was an easy, slow 4 mile run. My poor little legs felt so heavy during the run because they were sore but it was all good and I finished…

And as I type this I am sitting on ice ❄️ The last few runs I’ve done have been solo my buddy Rich has been out of town and Barbara did a half-marathon in Chicago this weekend. So it as it tends to happen when I’m out there by myself I get lost in thought; this time I was thinking about me actually crossing the finish line on November 6th. Mid-way through the run All I do Is Win came up on my playlist and my candace always picks up when this comes on and I’m totally seeing myself having moments as I cross the finish line as this plays 🙂 And just as I was about to finish the run Eminem’s I’m Not Afraid came on and I dug deep to finish the 4 miles. Seriously, if you need motivation to finish check out some Eminem powerful, motivational stuff.

My left leg is much better but my pace is now slower; but it was a slow run today, and my legs were sore from Saturday..it took me an hour to do the 4 miles. Dang! Oh well, it’s all good..

Happy Training…

I started running about two years ago by beginning a running program to help me prepare for my first 5k. I had wanted to run a 5k for years but never got around to doing it. Two years ago there was an event that happened which sent me on an emotional rollercoaster; starting this program was a way to get off that rollercoaster. Once I finished that first 5k I got the running bug and haven't stopped running since.
